8th Champions Taekwondo Frenzy – 2026

Champions Martial Arts proudly invites Taekwondo students and athletes from all schools in Canada and around the world to participate in this exciting annual championship. The Champions Taekwondo Frenzy is a professionally organized, friendly competition designed to test skill, courage, and spirit.

All participants will gain valuable competitive experience, improved confidence, and strong sportsmanship.

EVENT INFORMATION

Host: Champions Martial Arts, under the leadership of Grand Master Samer Kamal, 9th Dan Kukkiwon and Olympic Bronze Medalist at the 1988 Seoul Games. Grand Master Kamal is a certified 1st Class International Referee, 1st Class Kukkiwon Master, and 1st Class Kukkiwon Examiner.

FEES

Competitor Fee

• $100 + HST, (CAD 113) includes one or two events (Poomsae &/or Sparring)
• Applies to Colour Belts & Black Belts and all age groups
• Limited to 450 competitors (first come, first served)

Spectator Fee

• $10 (cash only at the door)
• Children 6 years old and under: Free

Registration deadline

• June 25, 2026 at 5pm.

AWARDS

•       To competitor’s winners at Poomsae & Kyorugi

•       Medals awarded on the mat immediately following each division

•       Athletes placing Top 4 in each division will receive medals:
1 Gold | 1 Silver | 2 Bronze

MANDATORY EQUIPMENT (WT STYLE)

Required for all sparring competitors:
• White dobok
• Head protector
• Mouth guard (clear or white)
• Chest protector
• Groin protector
• Forearm guards
• Shin guards
• Instep foot guards (mandatory for all belts)

•       No cancellations refund under any circumstances

GENERAL RULES & CONDUCT

•       Open to all Taekwondo students, all ages, all belt levels

•       Maximum capacity: 450 competitors

•       Respect referees, coaches, volunteers, and staff at all times

•       Safety and discipline rules strictly enforced

•       This is a recreational championship. Head contact is strictly prohibited for all divisions.

SPARRING – COLOUR & BLACK BELTS (RECREATIONAL)

Rules

•       WT (World Taekwondo) rules apply

•       No head contact

•       Open to all belt levels

•       Open to participants 5 years old and above

•       Competitors will be grouped by organizers into divisions based on age, belt level, weight and gender

•       Black belts who have competed at Provincial or National Championships within the past 5 years are not eligible for the recreational division

Match Format

• Age and weight divisions may be merged or split based on registration numbers

POOMSAE (FORMS) – COLOUR & BLACK BELTS

• Kukkiwon / WT-approved forms only
• Divisions based on age, belt level and gender
• Divisions may be combined or adjusted by organizers if necessary

TOURNAMENT SCHEDULE

Important Notes:

• All participants must report to the staging area 20 minutes before their group time

TOURNAMENT GUIDELINES

• Competition area is restricted to athletes, coaches and referees only
• Parents and spectators must remain in designated areas
• Announcements will be made for ring assignments
• Weight divisions may be adjusted to ensure fairness and safety

WT Equipment Standard:
White dobok, headgear, clear/white mouth guard, chest protector, groin protector, forearm guards, shin guards. Instep guards are mandatory for colour and black belts.

LIABILITY & MEDIA WAIVER

By registering for the 8th Champions Taekwondo Frenzy Championship, participants acknowledge the inherent risks of competition. While all safety measures will be enforced, injuries may occur. Participants agree to follow all rules and waive claims against all event organizers, officials, and associated organizations.

Participants also consent to the use of photos and videos taken during the event for promotional purposes without compensation.

All Ontario participants must hold a valid Ontario Taekwondo Association membership.
